Kiss Goodbye

Charlie Gibson proves why his retirement is coming much too late in this pathetic, suck-up interview with the President. The technique, this time worked, however, and the results are profound. Charlie gets Barack to confess why no responsible, patriotic American should ever vote for a Democrat again. This is no exaggeration – read on please and you shall see.

In his swan song interview with President Barack Obama, which consumed more than ten minutes of World News, ABC’s Charles Gibson couldn’t have provided a friendlier or more empathetic platform to Obama on the “weight” of sending troops to war and how “devilishly difficult” it’s become to pass health care plan because of a few rogue Senators.

OBAMA: I think that what we have right now in the Senate is a situation where the opposition party has made a political decision that we are going to say no to everything, we’re going to not be at the table, we’re going to just not get involved. What that — what that…

GIBSON: Which leaves you needing all 58 Democrats and two independents.

OBAMA: What that means is…

GIBSON: Every one of them.

OBAMA: Every single one of them.

GIBSON: Every single one.

OBAMA: Every single one of them. And…

The job of the majority party is to introduce legislation that is so appropriate and compelling that politicians from the other party are forced to sign on or risk the political wrath of voters. Failure to introduce a plan that is centrist enough to force the participation of the other side is taking advantage of having majority control – it is simply shutting the other side out of the process – divisive politics, plain and simple.

He then sympathized with what Obama is up against with Joe Lieberman and a few other Senators: “Then there’s the problem of getting the darn thing passed, which is proving to be devilishly difficult.” And lamented: “Do you feel like they’re holding you hostage on this?”

When Obama claims he’s being victimized by a GOP decision to just say no to everything – if that’s true, the ability of Republicans to do such a thing comes down to his failure to force them, with a centrist plan, to get on board. Rather than seek to attract centrist Republicans, Obama has pushed a reform plan that’s so radical he’s struggling to get his own party to sign on. How divisive is that!

And last point I’ll make on this: If we don’t pass it, here’s the guarantee, that the people who are watching tonight, your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you. Potentially they’re going to drop your coverage, because they just can’t afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year.

The legislation does nothing to lower health care costs, to “bend the cost curve.” Instead, it uses accounting tricks to make the first ten years appear to the Congressional Budget Office as a break even by starting the taxation right away but having the benefits kick in later. Yet, Obama has the gall in this interview to suggest that the bill must be passed or the U.S. will go bankrupt, blaming it on Medicare and Medaid running out of control. He guarantees it!

And the federal government will go bankrupt, because Medicare and Medicaid are on a trajectory that are unsustainable, and this actually provides us the best chance of starting to bend the cost curve on the government expenditures in Medicare and Medicaid.

While this is true – Democrats and their social programs are destroying the country – it’s an incredible admission since it’s an indictment of the big social programs passed by FDR and LBJ that Obama seeks to emulate. It as an admission that the conservative argument is correct – social programs are uncontrollable machines of societal violence that turn into a Frankenstein’s Monster. Once unleashed, there is no stopping their destructive growth.

So anybody who says that they are concerned about the deficit, concerned about debt, concerned about loading up taxes on future generations, you have to be supportive of this health care bill, because if we don’t do this, nobody argues with the fact that health care costs are going to consume the entire federal budget.

Yes – the federal budget is being destroyed by liberalism! And since the President admits that FDR style programs threaten the sustainability of our nation, he should be proposing their winding down, not their expansion. He is consciously and specifically calling for doing more damage to our country – to kill America faster, because this proposal takes all the mistakes of Medicare and Medicaid and puts them on steroids.

GIBSON: Let me talk to you a little bit about deficit reduction, because that’s something that’s certainly going to loom very large for you in the next couple years. You’re going to get a spending bill with 5,000 earmarks in it worth $4 billion, discretionary spending up 12 percent when inflation is essentially zero. How can you sign such a bill and be serious about deficit reduction?

OBAMA: …The main priorities are going to have to be dealing with Medicare and Medicaid, our health care costs, and that’s why health care is so important.

Why in the world would we attempt to fix the mistake of Medicare and Medicaid by taking more of our private sector health economy and adding it into those programs? Why would we turn more destructive power over to our uncontrollable elected officials, who take every little seed of socials safety net and nurture it into an America Killer?

GIBSON: Mr. President, thank you.

OBAMA: Charlie, let me say thank you to you for your extraordinary career, and you’ve always been a class act. It means a lot to be able to sit here and talk to you in your last week.

An appropriate capper to Charlie’s career – a horrible, spineless interview by yet another fawning media liberal – yet the results are fantastic. An outline presented by the President who wants to be the new LBJ as to how Johnson’s landmark legislation, which Barack seeks to emulate, is destroying the country.

GIBSON: You’re kind to say that. Thank you.

Why would we give them the power to devastate the nation further as a way to repair the damage they’ve already done?
