Roof roof!

Democrats know what they’re up to – passing anything is all they need, because once they have a government takeover of health care in place, they can expand it into the destructive force they want it to be. Remember, Medicare and Medicaid, when started, were relatively innocent seeds of socialism. On 60 Minutes last week, though, President Obama…

…said that the costs of Medicare and Medicaid are on an “unsustainable” trajectory and if there is no action taken to bring them down, “the federal government will go bankrupt.”

See – the government has already mismanaged its share of healthcare enough to destroy the nation, so they figure that qualifies them to take over the rest. Bankruptcy – that’s music to the ears of liberals – imagine, the end of capitalism! That’ll teach those evil insurance companies once and for all!

What we are getting here is a starter home. It’s got a good foundation: 30 million Americans are covered. It’s got a good roof…

Someday, this measure too can drive us into bankruptcy, although the socialists may not have to pile on to get this thing to destroy us – it might be able to do it in its present form if Medicare and Medicaid don’t do the job quickly enough.

…we can build additions as we go along in the future. It is a starter home. Think about it in that way,” Harkin said by telephone Thursday morning.

The good news is that Americans are much more savvy politically then they were when FDR and LBJ were putting the constitution through the shredder – they’re already bristling over the direction that Hope & Change is taking.

According to the most recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, 47 percent of voters oppose the party’s health care plan, compared with 32 percent who support it. The Pew Research Center puts the spread at 35 percent for, 48 percent against. And the most recent ABC News/Washington Post poll showed a precipitous drop in support for the overhaul in just the past month.

As much as Democrats might like to speed bankruptcy by expanding Medicare and Medicaid, voters feel differently. Liberals may be surprised, and disappointed, to learn that the average Joe is rather fond of America.
