West’s Point

Allen West is a dream candidate for the GOP.

Allen West knows that for our children to live their dreams, they need to be safe. He has served in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was battalion commander for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and in Afghanistan, where he trained Afghan officers to take on the responsibility of securing their own country.

Conservative, military and Black, he’s raising tons of money in a run for Congress in Florida’s 22nd District.

Republican congressional candidate, YouTube celebrity and fund-raising phenom Allen West has raked in more than $2 million in contributions for his challenge of U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton. But he’s already spent $977,853 — primarily on a direct-mail campaign with a group of Washington firms.

Reports filed Thursday show West raised $838,445 in the first quarter of 2010 to Klein’s $456,263. It was the second quarter in a row that West out-raised Klein in their nationally watched race. Overall, West has $1.1 million cash on hand while Klein has nearly $2.7 million in the bank.

Ron Klein is the perfect congressman to knock off – predictably liberal and just in his second term, in a year like this you’d have to view him as highly vulnerable. And the Dems are using their usual tactics, which will not work as well against a candidate with extensive military service.

This afternoon, the Broward County Democratic Chair blasted Republican Congressional candidate Allen West for his continuing use of extreme rhetoric and incendiary language. West’s rhetoric is similar to recent extremist communication from conservative darling Sarah Palin, who endorsed West recently.

They did everything but accuse him of racism!

West told activists they need to “make the fellow scared to come out of his house. That’s the only way that you’re going to win. That’s the only way you’re going to get these people’s attention. You’ve got to put pressure on them and make them understand that you’ve got to come back and live the laws that you establish. Don’t let them be a ruling class elite. You’ve got to let them know that the clock’s ticking.”

That sounds like good, hard hitting political rhetoric to me. But liberals have their talking points. West, fortunately, has his comebacks. And, since they can’t accuse him of racism, they’re left with only the “incendiary” bomb to throw.

The history of the Democratic party is steeped in intimidation. It was the Democratic Party that started the KKK to enforce Jim Crow segregation laws. It was the Democratic party that instituted lynching and other means of violence to preclude blacks from enjoying the Constitutional rights the Republican party established in the 13-15th Amendments and the early Civil Rights Legislation during the Reconstruction Era through the 1960s.

It is the Democratic party which today promotes the intimidation tactics of ACORN, SEIU, Code Pink, Anarchist groups, and the New Black Panther Party… The liberals of Broward County are evidencing their fear of the American people, and our campaign, and OUR voices will not be silenced.

Go West.
